Job Description

US Vietnam Talent International School is seeking the Officer, Student Affairs for our Van Lang Complex campus. As the Officer, Student Affairs, the jobholder is responsible for organizing all activities related to the life, holistic development, and behavior of students throughout the school (from Preschool to Highschool). This position serves as a bridge between academic divisions, operational departments, and parents to ensure that students learn, practice, experience, and grow in a safe, positive, and enriching environment.

A. YOUR ACCOUNTABILITY

Whole-School Events (20%)

  • Work with relevant departments to ensure that events are implemented on schedule, in compliance with regulations, safely, and in ways that provide educational value and strengthen student engagement.
  • Conduct post-event evaluation: collect feedback from students, teachers, and parents; prepare detailed reports, analyze strengths and weaknesses, and propose improvements for the following year.

Experiential Learning Trips (20%)

  • Collaborate with Academic Divisions to develop experiential learning programs aligned with educational goals, student profiles, and the characteristics of each grade level.
  • Support to prepare detailed annual plans, including content, destinations, organizing partners, schedules, budgets, and human resource allocation.
  • Conduct surveys and site inspections (if necessary) to assess safety levels and the suitability of learning and experiential content.
  • Monitor the implementation throughout all trips to ensure student safety and full compliance with school regulations.

Student Clubs (10%)

  • Collaborate with Academic Divisions to develop a system of student clubs that align with students’ competency development, skills, and interests.
  • Support club operations to ensure that activities align with educational directions, maintain safety, and encourage engaging and personal development experiences.
  • Evaluate end-of-year club performance: gather feedback from students and club advisors, prepare summary reports, and plan for quality enhancement in the following academic year.

Summer Camp Program (20%)

  • Collaborate with the International Academic Division to design a summer program aligned with students’ learning orientations, skill development, and personal growth.
  • Organize and monitor program quality to ensure content relevance, experiential value, safety, and educational effectiveness.
  • Support to conduct post-program evaluations: compile data, analyze student and parent feedback, and propose improvements for future summer programs.

Student Behavior Management (20%)

  • Monitor, record, and analyze student behavior data through the management system; propose timely intervention and support measures.
  • Handle cases of code-of-conduct violations with fairness, empathy, respect, and strict confidentiality of student information.
  • Collaborate with the School Counseling Department in cases where students require specialized emotional or behavioral support.
  • Provide training and guidance for teachers, supervisors, and staff on applying positive behavior management methods to build a safe and healthy school environment.

Administration And School Policy (10%)

  • Attend team/department/school meetings to get updates on codes, regulations, policy.
  • Cover lessons for absent teachers when needed.
  • Complete all paperwork required for leave requests, work permits, disciplinary measures, etc. according to timelines laid out by the school policy.
  • Comply with school handbooks as well as policy and guidance documents.
  • Other reasonable task assigned by the School Principal and Assistant Manager, Student Affairs.

B. JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields.

2. Experience

  • At least 6 month - 1 year of relevant experience in student affairs, education administration, or youth development.

3. Knowledge

  • General understanding of the psychological and developmental characteristics of students at Primary, Secondary, and High School levels.
  • Strong knowledge of experiential education models, skill development activities, and positive behavior management policies.
  • Solid grasp of safety, health, and protection regulations in organizing student events and field trips.

4. Skills

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze behavioral data and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills.
  • Proficiency in English for use in an international working environment.
